NYFW: Realizing the Dream
Last week, we facilitated Emy Mack‘s Shoe Debut on the runways of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City. Basically the Super Bowl of fashion. Lincoln Center aka “The Tents” welcomed designer David Tlale, who showcased his Fall 2014 Collection, “Elementary Metropolis.” Thanks to our amazing contacts at Shoe Week and Accessory 2, Tlale selected Emy Mack as his official shoe sponsor.
Each hand-crafted look was styled with shoes by Emy Mack. The runway shoe lineup included heels in classic black satin, suede, python, metallic snakeskin pumps, silver and gunmetal, and even nude flats paired with a full-length evening gown. The front-row buzzed with whispers that Tlale’s “couture ready-to-wear” collection was his greatest yet. Certainly from our P.O.V., each look teetered on the edge of an accessible masterpiece. You’d love to have a sheer meets high-low hemline gown, but you’d never really be ready-to-wear it anywhere. Unless you’re on the A list. The point of a collection like this, in large part, is to inspire. As such, Tlale’s designs convey a tailored, feminine aesthetic—a perfect compliment to the EMY MACK lady. She is quite accessible, put-together and is always ready for social hour. Sound like anyone you know?
At the end of a whirlwind week, we helped another client turn the corner from emerging to arriving designer. It takes a village to raise a brand, and there is no greater reward in this business than helping a client realize a lifelong dream of going from concept to runway. Partnering with a designer who has shown on one of the most significant platforms in the world, admittedly, is a dream realized for us, too.
Congrats, EMY MACK! You have arrived.
